What should be the expectations of Gospel Artists this day and time? Most Gospel Artists are just like any other genre of music artists today. They struggle with the financial burden of getting exposure, marketing, radio play, and support. It's no wonder most Independent Artists jumps on the first ridiculous deal they're offered. However, we can't be mad at them because even though it's not about the money (for some of us), it takes money to present a successful ministry to the world. Which brings me back to the answer for this topic, a genuine, heart-felt MINISTRY is what should be expected. A ministry comes in many forms: songs, spoken word, music, preaching, charity, but most of all spreading the Gospel of Christ in the process. Giving all the Glory to God for our accomplishments and encouraging others to be saved should be our ultimate goal. Unfortunately, this is where most Gospel Artist lose sight of purpose of the Gospel, because we are blinded by likes, shares, fans, and $$$. With all of this not one soul saved. I can appreciate Fred Hammond's ministry because he seized the opportunity to make an Alter Call any time he could, but others I will not bash, have fallen to the same purpose of any other genre in the industry, GETTING PAID!
